  • 08/02/2011 - The Annual Joint Meeting of the Rappahannock and Southeast Chapters of Society of American Foresters at John Smith’s place in Surry Co. VA. - Dr. Rick Borquist, Field Geologist, with the Virginia Division of Geology and Mineral Resources, spoke on soils and geology of Tidewater Virginia. John Smith (Consulting Forester, ACF) lead a discussion on the effects of seasonal wildfire on an on-site pre-commercial thinning planted loblolly pine stand that burned in February, 2011.
